Where Gurabo / Santiago sits and how access works

Gurabo — the hillside residential area on the east side of Santiago de los Caballeros — and the surrounding city neighbourhoods hold a growing number of private villas and long-stay rentals, 15 to 25 minutes from STI, the shortest run on this list. Gurabo's streets climb and switch back with sea-of-lights views over the city at night; some homes are behind a low residential gate with a caretaker, others are simply a house number on a hillside street with no signage at all. In central Santiago itself, addresses are usually straightforward city streets, but parking outside a walk-up building can be tight, so tell us if the entrance is on a one-way street or behind a security door with a buzzer. Either way, send the house or apartment number and any gate code with your booking, and we plan the drop-off accordingly.

How the pickup works

What we need from you

A villa or apartment is not a hotel lobby, so four details make the difference between a smooth arrival and a slow one:

• The community name exactly as your host writes it.
• The house, villa or apartment number.
• Any gate instruction, guard-list name or access code your host gave you.
• Whether the final lane is car-accessible or golf-cart only.
