Santiago airport transfer FAQ

The questions our dispatcher answers every day, with the same numbers we quote on WhatsApp. Every price is per vehicle, one-way, taxes included, for 1–6 passengers.

Does Uber work at Santiago's Cibao International Airport (STI)?
App pickups are not a reliable plan inside STI arrivals — drivers rarely accept airport-curb requests, and coverage outside Santiago itself is thin. That is why arriving travellers pre-book a private car: the driver stands outside arrivals with a name sign and the price is agreed before you land. Uber at STI — what actually works →
How much is a transfer from STI to Santiago?
Santiago de los Caballeros is $59 VIP, one-way, per vehicle, taxes included, for 1–6 passengers. The drive is 15–25 min from the terminal. A 7–14 passenger van adds $40 VIP. That rate covers the whole city, from Bella Vista and Jardines Metropolitanos to hotels near the Monumento a los Héroes. STI to Santiago →
How much is a transfer from STI to Puerto Plata?
Puerto Plata and Playa Dorada are $145 VIP one-way per vehicle, 60–80 min over the Gregorio Luperón highway and the Cordillera Septentrional pass. The price already includes taxes and the waiting time while you clear baggage. STI to Puerto Plata →
How much is a transfer from STI to Jarabacoa?
Jarabacoa is $149 VIP one-way per vehicle, 60–80 min on the mountain road. It is a slower, more scenic drive than the flat Autopista Duarte runs, and the fixed rate does not change for a night arrival or for the extra bends. STI to Jarabacoa →
How much is a transfer from STI to Sosúa or Cabarete?
Sosúa is $159 VIP (75–95 min); Cabarete is $169 VIP (85–105 min). Both run over the Cordillera Septentrional pass past Puerto Plata, so the rate is a little higher than Puerto Plata itself and the drive a little longer. STI to Sosúa →
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, always. One price covers the whole car, one-way, taxes included, for 1–6 passengers with luggage. Groups of 7–14 move to a van, which adds $40 VIP on local destinations. Nothing is charged per head, per bag or per child seat, and the figure written on WhatsApp is the figure the driver collects. Full price list →
What happens if my flight is late?
We track the flight number you send, so the driver leaves the base against the actual landing time, not the schedule. A delay or diversion costs nothing extra and there is no waiting fee while you clear immigration and baggage. If the flight is cancelled outright, tell us on WhatsApp and we move the booking to the new arrival. How pickup works →
Do you provide car seats for children?
Yes, at no extra cost. Tell us the child's age and weight when you book and the dispatcher assigns a vehicle with the right infant seat or booster fitted before it leaves the base. Two seats in one car is fine. Because seats are fitted in advance rather than kept at the curb, we need the request on WhatsApp, not on arrival. Families and car seats →
Where exactly does the driver meet me at STI?
Just outside the arrivals hall, after baggage claim and customs, holding a printed sign with your name. STI has a single small terminal, so there is no confusion about which door to head for. Plan 20–35 minutes from wheels-down to the sign; the driver is already there and waiting is included in the fixed price. How pickup works →
Do you sell shared shuttles?
No. We run private vehicles only — your booking, your car, no other passengers and no hotel-to-hotel loop. Shared shuttles can be cheaper for a solo traveller, but they punish families, late arrivals and anyone heading up to Jarabacoa or the north coast, where one extra stop can add real time. Shared shuttle vs private →
How do I pay, and do I have to prepay?
No prepay is required to hold a booking. You pay the driver at the end of the ride in US dollars or Dominican pesos, or you can settle by bank transfer beforehand if your company needs an invoice. The amount is written on WhatsApp before the trip and does not change at the car door. How to pay your transfer →
What time should the driver collect me for my departure flight?
Operator advice: Santiago and Licey/Tamboril 2 hours before departure, La Vega and Moca 2.5 hours, Puerto Plata, Sosúa and Cabarete 3 hours, Jarabacoa 3 hours. Those buffers absorb the check-in cutoff and the drive time band for each destination. We confirm the exact pickup time the day before by WhatsApp so you are not guessing at breakfast. Transfer times by destination →
Is the mountain road to Jarabacoa or Constanza difficult to drive?
It is a well-surfaced but winding road with a steady climb through the foothills — nothing our drivers do not handle daily, in daylight or after dark. It simply takes longer than a flat highway run of the same distance, which is why Jarabacoa and Constanza have their own drive-time bands rather than the Autopista Duarte rate. STI to Jarabacoa →
Is there a round-trip discount?
Yes — book both legs together and the return is 5% off, so a Santiago round trip is $112 VIP instead of $118. The same driver desk handles the departure pickup and confirms the time the day before. If your plans are not fixed yet, book the arrival now and add the return later at the same rate. Full price list →
How long is the drive to the north coast, and what does it cost?
Puerto Plata and Playa Dorada: VIP $145, approximately 60–80 min. Sosúa: VIP $159, approximately 75–95 min. Cabarete: VIP $169, approximately 85–105 min. Prices are one-way, per vehicle for 1–6 passengers. Confirm a departure pickup time against your flight and airline check-in requirements. STI to Puerto Plata →
Is there a night surcharge for a late landing?
No. A late-night arrival pays the same fixed rate as a midday one. The driver waits outside arrivals whenever the flight lands, and we track the flight number so a diversion or a delay changes nothing on the price. Night arrivals at STI →
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, at no extra cost. Send each child's age and weight on WhatsApp when you book and the seats are fitted before the driver leaves for the airport. Children ride inside the same 1–6 passenger vehicle price; a stroller and the usual family luggage still fit. Families and car seats →
SDQ airport or Santo Domingo city — which page do I book?
Both are $269 VIP and take 2.25–2.75 h, but they are different drops. SDQ is the airport-to-airport run to Las Américas for a connecting flight; the city route ends at a Zona Colonial, Malecón or business hotel. Tell us which one and the driver plans the entrance accordingly. STI to SDQ airport →
