Where Sosúa hillside sits and how access works
The hills above Sosúa — behind El Batey and rising toward the ridge that overlooks the bay — are where most of the area's private villa rentals sit, 75 to 95 minutes from Cibao International Airport (STI). These are individually owned homes, not resort units: some have a small gated entrance with a keypad or a caretaker who lives on site, others are simply a numbered gate on an unlit concrete lane that switches back several times before reaching the house. None of this is signed for visitors, so we need the villa name or number and the host's exact directions before the pickup day, not after you've landed. A few of the steeper driveways are rough concrete or packed dirt and are hard on low-clearance cars, especially after rain; tell us if your host has warned you about the driveway and we send a vehicle that can handle it. Luggage matters here too — if the house is up a set of steps from where a car can turn around, say so, and your driver will plan for a short carry.
