When we recommend leaving Santiago

For most Santiago pickups we recommend leaving 2 to 2.5 hours before your flight. STI is a single small terminal with one check-in hall, so it clears quickly — this is not a Punta Cana-scale airport, and there is no need to build in the long buffers guests plan for at larger terminals. The 15–25 minute drive covers the whole city grid, from the Gurabo hillside hotels down to the Monumento and Calle del Sol area, and traffic only really bites in the morning and late-afternoon rush around the Autopista Duarte interchange. If you are leaving from Gurabo or the Cerros de Gurabo hillside during that window, or flying with a group of six or more, add 20–30 minutes.

Resort gate and lobby pickup

For hotels such as Hodelpa Gran Almirante, Hodelpa Centro Plaza, Hotel Platino Santiago, Matum Hotel & Casino, Hampton by Hilton Santiago or Holiday Inn Santiago, the driver waits at the main lobby entrance with your name. For private houses or the Camp David Ranch hillside, send the exact address and gate code if there is one, and the driver comes straight to the door.

Suitcases, garment bags and the odd box of coffee or cigars from the local shops are all normal here. Tell us the passenger and case count with your booking so the right vehicle — SUV, minivan or van — turns up rather than being decided at the curb.
