Where Encuentro sits and how access works

Encuentro sits just west of Cabarete village, a quieter stretch known for its surf break and a scattering of villas and surf houses set back from the coast road, roughly 90 to 110 minutes from STI once the extra few minutes past Cabarete are added. Few of these properties have a formal address — most are known by the owner's name or a nearby landmark, and the final approach is often an unpaved or packed-sand lane that a low car can bottom out on after heavy rain. Send us the property name and any landmark your host gives (a school, a colmado, a particular curve in the road) and we brief the driver in advance rather than guessing on arrival. If you are bringing surfboards or board bags, mention them — we plan the vehicle and boot space around the extra length, not just passenger count.
